Groups

Guided tour of the Melk Memorial

Workshops, special formats and guided tours with our guides are available for all target groups (pupils of all school types from around 14 years of age, apprentices, associations, political interest groups, companies, etc.).
Please contact us by email at info@melk-memorial.org or wolfgang.fehrerberger@mauthausen-memorial.org to adapt the guided tour to your individual needs.

Please note that the group size per guide should not exceed 20 people, there is no minimum number. We divide larger groups and work with several guides in parallel. A maximum of two groups can start at the same time, with the next group(s) starting 90 minutes later.

We offer guided tours to all interested parties by prior arrangement. Conditions: minimum 10 people, maximum 25 people per group. Large groups by arrangement.

Adults: full price € 5,- per person (reduced price* € 3,- per person)

*Reduced prices apply to people up to 18 years, people in education up to 27 years, people over 65 years or with pensioners card and the unemployed.
All programmes are free for former Mauthausen concentration camp prisoners and their families.

The following options can be booked:

Melk tour (on the site of the former Melk concentration camp): 2 hours, € 5 / 3 (reduced)
Melk tour with preparation and follow-up: 3 to 4 hours, € 7 / 5 (reduced)

Individual visitors and Groups

The Melk Memorial in the former crematorium can be visited free of charge at any time. The memorial is located at Schießstattweg 2, 3390 Melk. There is also an exhibition on the history of the camp on the premises of the former crematorium.
The key for the garden gate can be borrowed at the entrance to the "Birago-Pionierkaserne", Prinzlstraße 22, from the guards upon presentation of an official photo ID.

The concentration camp memorial is currently not independently accessible for wheelchair users. If you would like to visit the memorial, please contact us. The future accessibility of the concentration camp memorial is being planned.
